Similar, but different than the Color-Spine Binders.

Both binder styles have covers that are:

Recycled
Recyclable
Removable
Replaceable

The 1" Standard Binders are one continuous piece of "cardboard" (it's like cardboard, but denser and a little fancier), so there is a little bit of buoyancy to a closed binder cover. The 1/2" Standard Binder has a thinner cardboard, like a notebook. *See note below about spirals.

The Color-Spine Binders have a more distinct/right-angle, perfect closure because there are deeper cuts in the (fancy) cardboard, that are held together by the cloth tape.

Both are awesome.

We recommend the 1/2" Standard Binder as a zero-waste replacement for spiral notebooks, and multi-subject spiral notebooks, because ALL spiral notebooks are landfill-bound forEVER.

Use a philips head screwdriver to remove the cover
Cover goes in paper/cardboard recycling
Attach a new cover

If the metal portion is mangled (you animal), put the pieces in a box for scrap metal recycling.

Scrap Metal Recycling means collecting all the little random pieces of metal that shouldn't go to landfill (because it's absurd to send these materials to a toxic box in the ground that will be sealed forever) but they're pieces you can't and really shouldn't put in your regular recycling. Most recycling centers will accept this box of random pieces because they are metal and they have value.
